SMART ARCHITECTURE

Smart Architecture is a process and technology driven architecture firm established by architects and engineers who have worked at the interface of digital technologies and the architecture and construction industry for over thirty years. Beginning with projects in New York City and at the Office of Hugh N. Jacobsen, Washington DC in the 1970s, Then at the Project Planning Associates Ltd. with its CEO Dr. MacClain Hancock who extracted Mr. Allam to come to Canada in the mid-1970s and with WZMH & RDH in the 1980s, This transition to PPAL, launched his career in Urban Planning and major projects 1989 with the formation of AIG International Architects Inc. in Canada and worldwide for the last three decades, where we have continued to advance in all aspects of the profession including the art of digital modeling, ranging from presentations to infrastructure and

BIM where our services harness the potential of the digital database to enhance understanding, visualization, and coordination, resulting in better design and more economical and productive execution. and manage the documentation and construction process through a 3D database. On projects of diverse scales, ranging from artwork to infrastructure, our services harness the potential of the digital database to enhance understanding, visualization, and coordination, resulting in better design and more economical and productive execution. Overall, smart architecture seeks to create innovative and responsive buildings that are both sustainable and user-friendly, utilizing technology to enhance the functionality and experience of the built environment.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable architecture is reflected in a building’s materials, construction methods, resource use and design in general. The design must also facilitate sustainable operation during the building life cycle, including its ultimate disposal. While it has to be functional and aesthetically pleasing, the space has to be developed with the mind-set of achieving long-term energy and resource efficiency. Sustainable architecture is also referred to as green architecture or environmental architecture. It challenges architects to produce smart designs and use available technologies to ensure that structures generate minimal harmful effects to the ecosystem and the communities. If you are not from the construction world, it may be difficult to get your head around this concept so giving an over simplistic example at this stage may be necessary.

Imagine that there is a plot of land that you think is conveniently located for you to build your house. The problem, however, is that there are 100 trees planted on it and that these trees are the last of their kind. Some sustainable architecture strategies include using renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power, designing buildings to be energy-efficient, incorporating green roofs or walls, using locally sourced materials, and implementing rainwater harvesting and wastewater treatment systems. Sustainable architecture can also promote healthier living for occupants by improving indoor air quality, providing access to natural light and views, and creating spaces that encourage physical activity and social interaction. Overall, sustainable architecture aims to create buildings that are environmentally responsible.

WELL-BEING

Humanity’s purpose in life is to grow, prosper with nature and become happy. The environment we live-in plays a big role in forming who we are, and vice versa, we reflect who we are can be seen in our environment. As architects, planners, and designers, we are committed to creating this future. We must design with both the client and end users in mind. Our projects typology, can benefit significantly from adopting this principal:
• Social space needs a social inducive environment
• Hospitals and healthcare projects need a health inducive environment (not an institutional sterilized environment)
• Education, schools, and colleges require students and instructors’ interaction space and learning inducive environments
• Retail space and Mixed Use, requires social interaction and a retail inducive environment.

• Culture, Museums, and performing arts centres, each has its own way to inspire art and cultural appreciation
• Recreation & Theme parks, A fun inducive environment
The list goes on accordingly Above all the significance of the Environment and Mother Nature in our projects. We belong to the nature of this planet as our source of existence:
The presence of nature outdoors and in the interior environment can not be over-emphasized! AIG, acknowledges the importance Nature is playing as a key factor in our well-being. It is well acknowledged through scientific research that being part of nature and the Ecosystem is integral to our health and physical, mental and spiritual healing. This is being acknowledged the many health benefits of forest bathing Shenrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing in Japanese).
